2025/4/9 Moving into Miracles

Ron Sawka Ministries

April 9, 2025; 11 Nissan, 5785

“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest’” (Luke 10:1–2).

“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest’” (Matt. 9:37–38).

Moving into Miracles

Perhaps the main reason the Lord is drawing our attention to Apostolic Centers and how they function is because He wants all believers to be able to rise up quickly and be used in His harvest. This is what happened in the early church. From the day of Pentecost when 3,000 were saved and baptized, it seems that immediately they opened their homes and workplaces, and wonderful works of God took place as they fellowshipped and shared with non-Christian friends and relatives.

God has been leading our Online Apostolic Center MPP. Likewise, I know one of His main goals is for believers to be fruitful in His harvest. Lately, I have looked again at His instructions to the 12 and the 70. In both cases He emphasized three things: 1) the harvest is great; 2) laborers are few; 3) pray and ask the Lord of the harvest to raise up the workers.

Here are three things that can result from praying this way:

1. Prayer is our priority and will result in open doors and opportunities and connections. Jesus wants us to pray this prayer—that the Lord would send laborers into His harvest. I think it’s correct to assume that this is how Jesus continually prayed to His Father: “Father, the fields are white, but there are so few laborers—please raise them up.” The results were amazing. For example, when He called Peter, Andrew, and James, they rose and followed. Likewise, Matthew left his tax booth and immediately followed Him.

Also let’s note the context in which Jesus gave the “harvest prayer” instruction to the twelve. The preceding verses in Matthew 9:35–36 state: “Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.” You could say that His prayer connected to cities and villages opening for Him, as well as teaching in synagogues and much healing. In other words, the more we pray, the more we will find similar things (cities opening, teaching/speaking opportunities, and chances to pray for healing opening up for each of us).

And let’s not forget how Jesus was “moved with compassion for them” (Matt. 9:36). I think we can guarantee that the same will happen for us. We will find ourselves having hearts of compassion for those around us.

2. Prayer will yield amazing and unexpected results. We already saw how readily each of the 12 responded to the call to follow Jesus. We also know people flocked to Jesus wherever He went. The scale may well be different, but isn’t that what the Lord wants for us as well? For people to be drawn to us (actually to His presence in us)? And let’s consider the 500 who were told to tarry in Jerusalem waiting for the promise of the Father (see Acts 1:4–5). Don’t you think that at least one of their activities was praying like Jesus had told them—“Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest”?

And look at what an astonishing thing happened. The Holy Spirit was poured out and 3,000 were saved. Not only were they saved, but it seems like they were immediately used as laborers in the harvest. We know from Acts 2–4 that most of the growth in numbers came while these new believers fellowshipped and shared in their homes and workplaces (oikos).

So, let’s be determined and pray as Jesus said, and who knows what the results will be. I expect God wants to pour out far more than we may ask or think.

3. Recognize it is His harvest that causes us to grow in faith and the fear of the Lord. Both passages in Matthew and Luke make this very clear: “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” It’s not our harvest. It belongs to Him. It’s not some wide open, free-for-all situation where laborers can come and go as they like and do whatever they want whenever they choose to. Any farmer will carefully guard his harvest. He will only allow workers that he can trust. Our Lord is the same. He is planning for and will get a large and bountiful harvest. He will only send workers that He can trust. I feel that as we are faithful to pray this prayer, we will find ourselves being deepened in the “fear of the Lord.” Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land, we’re told, “Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel” (Num 20:12). Moses “used” God to make himself look better. He should have just believed and obeyed—speaking to the rock (and not striking it) as God had said.

I feel the lesson is clear. The more we pray, the more we will recognize it’s His—and not our—harvest. We will find ourselves growing in the fear of the Lord as well as growing in faith. We will find ourselves being changed into laborers that He can and will use.

Thanks for your praying,

Ron and Teddy

Prayer Corner-Things for all of us to pray for

  1. Thank you for praying for our ministry trip. Some amazing things happened. I believe our trip was symbolic of a new launching and opening doors for all of us. So watch with anticipation for doors and launching for yourself these next few weeks.

  2. Keep on praising/worshiping the Lord personally/privately each day. One powerful method is to sing the “song of the Lord,” which means sing prophetically to Him. (See 1 Chron. 25; 2 Chron. 29; Eph. 5:18–19.) God used this to expand David. He wants to expand us as well (see Acts 15:16).

  3. Press into miracles and signs and wonders. Remember to declare and sing that the Lord has anointed you (see Isa. 61:1–2).

A New Beginning—The Lord Is Using Us to Do Miracles!

Nissan—The First Hebrew Month of 5785; March 30–April 28, 2025

I love this month, Nissan, because it’s the first month of the Hebrew year and is the beginning of the redemption cycle. Nissan contains Passover (Nissan 14/April 12), the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Nissan 15–22/April 13–20), and the Feast of Firstfruits (Nissan 16–17/April 14–15).

Every Nissan is a time of leaving the old and crossing over into a life of walking with the Lord—just like how the Israelites were set free from the old (Egypt), and were released into a new life walking with the Lord. I believe this year more than ever is about miracles. God wants us to choose to walk expecting Him to do miracles through us. In other words, He wants us to be miracle workers. It may not be easy, but He will help us press ahead. We know the Israelites saw many miracles, but never learned from them. They somehow stayed in complaining and unbelief. May it never be that way for us!

Yes, we too will encounter trials when we will want to slip into the old default of complaining or negativity. We must remember Nissan is also the month of the tribe of Judah, which means “praise.” Recently, the Lord has been showing us to sing prophetically to Him daily. I feel that as we sing the “song of the Lord,” new things—and new power—will begin to be released to us.
