“So David said to him [Mephibosheth], ‘Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually’” (2 Sam. 9:7).
“And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven” (Mark 13:27).
“‘It shall come to pass in that day that I will answer,’ says the Lord; ‘I will answer the heavens, and they shall answer the earth’” (Hos. 2:21).
A “Mephibosheth” Time of Harvest!
We are in a “Mephibosheth” time. Like most of you, I well knew the 2 Samuel 9 story of Mephibosheth, the physically disabled sole remaining son of Jonathan. But when I read the account a few days ago, God spoke to me quite strongly, and I want to share with you. I feel God now wants us to expect Him to move regarding people we are burdened for, just like David moved to find and fully restore Mephibosheth! A few thoughts are as follows:
1. God’s heart is moved by our praise and worship—Perhaps it was because David spent so much time in praise and worship in the tent/tabernacle that held the ark of the covenant that his heart was moved and suddenly he recalled his covenant with Jonathan, who had been dead for a number of years. All of a sudden, David’s heart was stirred. He remembered the covenant, and immediately began to inquire if there wasn’t something he could do in support of that covenant. I think there is much for us to learn from this. We must see that our standing in faith, loving the Lord, and praise and worship all have profound effect on the heart of the Lord, as well as on our own hearts. Be it great or small, intense or not, God is stirred by our worship and is moved to action.
2. God moves because of His covenant with us—When David recalled the covenant with Jonathan, he inquired and found out there was a surviving son. When Mephibosheth was brought before him, David said, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake” (9:7). I believe God wants us to know that because of His covenant with us—and ours with Him—He is making “inquiries” and wants to bring in sons and daughters, relatives, or those in our city or nation that we have been praying for. This isn’t because they have earned it or because of any of our merit. Rather, it’s because He and we have covenant—the covenant we entered into when we believed and received salvation in Jesus.
3. God restores because of covenant—Note that Mephibosheth was unable to walk (see 9:3). Practically speaking, he was of no value to David. Yet David pledged to “restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather” (9:7). To me, “lands being restored” refers to lost destiny and callings. We should expect lives to be restored, and these restored people to enter into their callings. David also assigned a man named Ziba to steward those lands so there wasn’t a burden on Mephibosheth (see 9:9–11). Likewise, we can trust the Holy Spirit to steward these restored people into their destinies.
4. God wants close fellowship—David told Mephibosheth, “You shall eat bread at my table continually” (9:7). It wasn’t a duty or obligation for David to restore Mephibosheth. Because of covenant, David truly loved this son of Jonathan. In the same way, God loves us and all those who will be saved because of His covenant with you. He wants close fellowship.
5. Ask God to send the angels—I hope by now the message is clear. Because of His covenant with you, God wants to bring in and show kindness. These might be family members or others that you have been burdened and praying for. The key is to ask and expect. Ask God to send His angels. Recently, someone prophesied to me about “legions of angels” to be dispatched. How very appropriate. So ask the Lord to send the angels. They will work in conjunction with us. They will make connections and setups for ministry, and will also work in various ways so the “Mephibosheths” can be brought in. This is what God wants us to know and wants us to believe Him for now.
Thanks for praying.

Tammuz—The Fourth Month of the Hebrew Year 5784: July 7–August 4, 2024
Three Strategies for Going Through Difficult Times!
We know this fourth month is a time to be watchful. This month also teaches us how to shine as we go through difficult times.
Since the main purpose of teaching on the Hebrew months is to help us have and hold Biblical mindsets, here are three strategies or mindsets that will help us:
1. Joy—“Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You” (Ps. 40:16, 70:4).
2. Keep talking and speaking—even if only to yourself—about how good God is—Those same verses go on to say, “Let such as love Your salvation say continually, ‘The Lord be magnified!’”
3. Hope in God and His mercy (continually expect something good from God)—“Hope” is a very misunderstood word, and its power often grossly ignored. Psalm 33:22 clearly shows that God will pour out His mercy and help on those who are expecting (hoping for) it. It states, “Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You.” In other words, if there is no expectation or hope from us, then probably not so much mercy/help will be poured out by Him. Let’s also remember the following promise from Romans 5:5, which states, “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Praying for One Nation Every Day
hope you are joining us and praying every day for your city, your nation, and another nation each day until Passover next spring. Today I was led to pray for Burma, a nation the Lord put on my heart back in 1992 and to which I led a prophetic team from Japan.
This prayer strategy comes from Apostle Karen Dey (New Zealand/Sri Lanka)
Apostles and Apostolic Anointing is a book I wrote a few years ago. God wants apostles to arise and take their proper places so all believers can understand, receive, and move in this anointing. It’s available in English, Japanese, and Mandarin.
A Kindle version in English is available on Amazon.
