“Then He said to them, ‘With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer’” (Luke 22:15, emphasis added).
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15–16).
“And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul” (1 Sam. 18:10).
Shifting into God’s Timing
“Perfect timing!” Those were my words to Teddy when she handed me a cup of coffee as I was heading into my office for a Zoom call. She replied, “It’s always perfect timing (with God).” I almost immediately recognized that God had spoken through her and that He was saying we need to shift into His timing and that we need to do it now.
Here are some thoughts about walking in His timing.
First, I must recognize that the Lord is in charge of me (and of all things), and therefore He is in charge of my time. This is a truth we all know. But be sure to shift into the mindset that He is in charge of my daily, minute-by-minute schedule.
Second, I must not allow the thought that I can put off or have a vague, “later” expectation of some things to come to pass that He has spoken. I don’t mean we have to immediately go into frenzied action or force something out of proper timing. But we must be alert now for any strategies or actions to take. For example, God has spoken much to me about releasing believers into the harvest and methods of doing so. I can’t allow myself to be in “wait-and-see mode.” I have to press in and expect His strategies now.
Third, I can never allow myself to feel frazzled or pressured that I will be late. Instead, I must choose to walk in peace and in the mindset that God is in charge and that all will work out. I must trust! And even those many, many things He has spoken to me about—ideas He has put on my heart—they will come to pass as I actively choose to walk in His timing.
Fourth, I have to drop “my agendas.” Just today, a family member shared how feelings of annoyance/pressure disappeared when they recognized and dropped their own agendas/expectations. This member was serving someone else, but was getting annoyed when things didn’t go as expected. This person then heard the Lord say, “Just drop your expectations, focus on that person, and trust that I am working.” Great peace and advance then came.
I know that much more can be written about us walking with God in His timing, but the point of this update is that we must make this head- and heart-shift now. We have just finished Passover, which is always about crossing over and shifting into something new. In Moses’s era, they shifted from being slaves into warriors, and from poverty into abundance. Then in Joshua’s day, they shifted from being wanderers into possessing their inheritance.
I think the main reason Jesus so longed to eat His last Passover meal with the Twelve (see Luke 22:15) was because of shifting. He knew the greatest shift in history would happen—the shift from Old Covenant to New. So, let’s be sure we are shifted and are walking with God in His timing. It’s about letting Him take over the schedule and walking in peace and confidence in it.
Thanks for praying.
Ron and Teddy

Iyar—Shifting into God’s Time
The Second Hebrew Month of 5784, May 9–June 6, 2024
It’s extremely interesting to me that just before I wrote this update, the Lord spoke about shifting into His timing (see article above). And then when I opened up the file on Iyar, I see it specifically deals with time. Iyar is about counting down to Pentecost, and it’s also about the tribe of Issachar—“The sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” (1 Chron. 12:32).
Proverbs 29:18 also speaks about this. It states, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint.” If we don’t have understanding or vision that God is in charge of our time, and thus think and act accordingly, we will easily just drift into living for ourselves. Let this whole month be about shifting into walking with Him in His timing.
