Dealing with Ground-Level Demons

These updates continue to be from the rehabilitation hospital where I’ve been since the start of February. The Lord is showing me some amazing things. During the first forty-one days in the primary-care hospital, the Lord was showing me mostly about personal things. Since I’ve gotten to this rehabilitation hospital, it’s been about spiritual warfare and using the authority. Allow me to explain…

Spiritual Warfare

As you may recall from last week’s update, I encountered a spirit of death on my second day in this facility. It was so obvious. Immediately, I bound it and commanded it to leave. But it wasn’t so simple. I then had to cleanse the land the hospital was on, break all dedications of the land and the building, and rededicate it to God—because Psalm 24:1 states, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.” I was thankful for the great increase in authority the Lord has been giving me since my operation, and could sense it as I used it. I also prophesied to the ruling spirits of the city, as well to the city itself, from Ezekiel 21:26–27. I proclaimed those verses and declared the demonic forces were overthrown and no longer rulers here. I prophesied revival to the city, as well as signs, wonders, miracles, and many salvations.

But Tuesday night, February 6, I realized those ruling spirits were sending ground-level spirits against me to harass and hinder me—including my recovery. I sent a message to the intercessors to pray against that.

Ron’s Testimony

Now the testimony begins. Just minutes after sending that prayer request out, I began to pray in tongues and the Lord reminded me of an experience in our second church in Japan many years ago. Things had gotten very heavy and difficult because of a Jezebel spirit. While I was praying alone in desperation, I commanded any demon that might be on me or harassing me to leave. I was shocked at what happened. Immediately I felt as if claws were being released from my shoulders and back, and I could feel demons leaving. I felt so refreshed and free. That experience was a long time ago, but I knew the Holy Spirit had reminded me and that I must do it again right away, so I did. I ordered any spirit that might be on me or sent to hinder me to leave.

The results were amazing. First, I fell asleep immediately—something I’d been unable to do in this new hospital. Second, I didn’t wake up at all at night and lie awake for a few hours like I had every night since being moved here. I slept all the way through the night. Third, my left hand, which had been swelling, was back to normal size in the morning. The next night, Wednesday, was the same—immediate sleep; no waking up because of pain; and sleeping all the way through the night—which, again, I’d been unable to do in this new hospital in the week prior.

We Have to Grow in Casting Out Demons

Later that morning, the Lord further spoke to me from Mark 16:17, which lists the signs that will follow a believer. The very first sign is casting out demons, and the second is speaking in tongues. Most of us easily speak in tongues, but maybe we don’t cast out so many demons. I had to repent, because one of the first and most important things the Lord says we can and must do is discern and cast out demons. Please note healing only comes at the end of the list. I believe we must have the mindset that one of our first priorities is to discern and cast out demons.

Mark 16:17 states, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.”

Three Levels

Much more could be said, but here are three levels of casting out demons. First is cleansing the land and casting demons out from that land, building, or city. Second is deliverance ministry, where we drive out demons that have taken up residence in a person. Third is just driving out demons that try to come upon us and hinder us. They can be upon us or in our homes, ministries, or workplaces. They harass and are irritants. It’s this third kind, perhaps, that is most easy to overlook.

Don’t Allow Irritation and Harassment

Numbers 33:55 reads, “But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall be that those whom you let remain shall be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall harass you in the land where you dwell.” Of course as New Testament Christians, we don’t drive out people like the Israelites had to, but we must drive out the enemy around us or they will be irritants in our eyes, thorns in our sides, and will harass us.

Using authority and driving out demons is something God delegated to mankind. He gave them authority to rule and have dominion over everything, including the serpent (see Genesis 1:26). Unfortunately, because Adam and Eve didn’t drive out the enemy, eventually they were the ones who were driven out of Eden.

Jesus got back the authority that was lost through Adam. He gave it to us, and we must use it. If we don’t, then God will be hindered from doing things for us if we don’t first use the authority and drive out demons. Recall the story in Luke 13:11–13 of the women bent over for 18 years. First, Jesus drove out the spirit of infirmity, and only then did he lay on hands and release healing.

So is something irritating or harassing you? I urge you to command any spirit/demon that might be there to go. Use the authority and command it. I believe you will see almost immediate change. And remember, the more we use this authority, the more we will grow in discernment and in that authority.

Be blessed.

Speaking Truth in Your Heart

Adar 1—The Twelfth Hebrew Month of 5784

February 10–March 10, 2024

Much of what I share these days comes from what the Lord taught me while I was hospitalized. One thing He has shown me clearly is to think and speak only what lines up with Him and His word. Psalm 15:1–2 states, “Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.”

This simply means I can’t entertain thoughts that are against what He says. For example, God says, “I am with you. I will take care of this. You don’t need to worry. I hear your prayers.” Those truths are very clear—very clear. But it’s easy to wonder if God really is in charge—if He really is going to take care of me.

I must not allow those thoughts to get into my heart. I must not entertain them in my thinking. As I safeguard my thoughts, there is incredible peace and joy because I know God is in charge. Let me reiterate: whenever worry or negative thoughts come, we must take those thoughts captive because really that’s part of spiritual warfare. It’s through our thinking that the devil gains and keeps footholds in our lives. We must not allow this.

So in these two months of Adar 1 and 2, ask the Holy Spirit to continually help so that we are only thinking and speaking truth in our inward parts.

The result will be incredible fellowship with Jesus! Psalm 15:1 asks: “Who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?” And 15:2 responds: “He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.

This incredible truth fits every single blessing for the months of Adar. Don’t accept any falsehood or any lie. Believe that God is good and He has all these blessings for us.
