2023/1/25 What? The Lord Wants Me to Enjoy Life?

Ron Sawka Ministries

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Ps. 34:8).

“Bread from Asher shall be rich, and he shall yield royal dainties” (Gen. 49:20).

What? The Lord Wants Me to Enjoy Life?

The other day while conducting word of knowledge activations, I received a simple—yet profound (and freeing)—word. I was told, “The Lord wants you to enjoy life … enjoy it more.” I never expected to hear that. I was surprised, but immediately knew deep in my spirit that indeed the Lord had spoken and I needed to heed the word.

I plead guilty to being too serious. Being too focused—too results oriented. I want things to happen, and I want them to happen now. I tend to feel guilty when I am doing “nothing.” I tend not to enjoy down time very much, because surely I ought be doing something…

So that simple word, “The Lord wants you to enjoy life … enjoy it more,” had profound impact. I referred to it the next morning on MPP. God actually has things for us to enjoy. He is often extravagant towards us. If not, then why would His word say, “Bread from Asher shall be rich, and he shall yield royal dainties” (Gen. 49:20). Note that it doesn’t describe this bread as nutritious or full of fiber for good health. It’s called “rich” bread, and refers to “royal dainties.” Things to be enjoyed.

Once we accept this and start enjoying our lives the way He intended, several profound changes will occur:

We ourselves begin to relax—this will happen almost immediately.

Because we aren’t hard on ourselves, we increasingly become a blessing to those around us.

Our words begin to change. We speak kindly about ourselves, about others, and about God.

Because we choose to enjoy our lives, our spiritual eyes and ears open up much more and we see God’s goodness more than ever.

Because we are seeing and experiencing His goodness, our words will give hope and life to others. Isaiah 35:4–6 states, “Say to those who are fearful-hearted, ‘Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.’ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer.” Can you imagine the profound impact of all this? Our words will be so full of life, faith, and hope that people’s eyes will be opened, and their ears unstopped. We will find we are in the position of being revival starters. This all because of simply choosing to obey God and “enjoy” life.

Thanks for praying,

Ron and Teddy

A Time to Shout Out the Goodness of God

Shevat—The Eleventh Hebrew Month

January 23–February 21, 2023

This is the month of being very bold in our declarations. God not only wants us to believe in our hearts, but also to declare with our mouths. In Mark 11:23, we’re told whoever “believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

There are times when this declaring needs to be forceful—perhaps at times even a shout. Remember Psalm 47:5, which states, “God has gone up with a shout.” I like to think that when we shout/declare in faith, God rises up on our behalf. So make your declarations of the goodness of God loud and clear this month.
