“And Joshua said to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you’” (Josh. 3:5).
“‘Sing, O barren one … break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,’ says the Lord. ‘Enlarge the place of your tent … For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left’” (Isa. 54:1–3).
Getting Ready to Cross Over
I trust you were blessed last week by singing a “new song” to God. I was surprised how the Holy Spirit led us to spend most of MPP singing a new song to the Lord. In fact, we continued every day. I love the promise of Isaiah 54. God wants us to expand, enlarge, and be fruitful. We can start by singing to Him. He—and He alone—is the one who brings miracles and blessings.
This week is about “crossing over.” For the past three years, the Lord has had His church worldwide in a time of preparation. He wanted us to see corona (which means “crown”) as a time for us as Christians to fully enter our identity as ones who have been coronated/crowned. We are sons/daughters of the king. We are to rule with Jesus now.
All of this has been preparation for what is now coming—a great end time harvest. This will be a great harvest in which the ekklesia will live and operate in a manner previously unexperienced. A few years ago, the Holy Spirit drew my attention to Israel being forced to fight with two kings on the east side of the Jordan (outside of the Promised Land). They were given no choice. They conquered Sihon and Og and absorbed those lands, even though they weren’t originally part of the Promised Land. It was kind of a bonus (see Num. 21:21–35).
I meditated on the meaning of that and knew the Holy Spirit was leading me to do so, but I never fully understood. Now I do! I see it as a prophetic picture for us in these “end times.” When Israel defeated those two kingdoms and took the land, it was a huge blessing, but it wasn’t the fullness. It wasn’t the original promise. Those lands weren’t the “land of milk and honey.” They still had to cross over the Jordan river. The best was yet to come.
So it is for the church now. From the time of Jesus’s resurrection until today, there has been tremendous blessing and victory. So much has been accomplished. There is huge harvest around the world. But the best is yet to come. What we have seen until now is like the taking of those two kingdoms of Sihon and Og. A great blessing? Yes. But not the fullness.
I believe that now God has prepared us—His ekklesia around the world—and we are ready to step with Him into a harvest the world has never yet seen. The day of Pentecost and the book of Acts are the models we will now see multiplied and enlarged many, many times over.
But the requirement still will be faith. It was relatively easy to cross the Red Sea. Moses’s upheld rod divided it, and an open way appeared before their eyes. No faith was required. They could just begin to walk across. However under Joshua, the priests were required to carry the ark of the covenant. The Jordan river was at flood levels and a way through hadn’t opened up. The water level remained unchanged until they stuck their feet into the water (Josh. 3:15–16). Then the water backed up and they crossed over as if on dry ground. That required great faith.
So I repeat—God wants us to cross over with Him into a time of unimaginably great harvest. It may not appear that way. It may not appear there will be great miracles. But we will move ahead in faith. Our feet will “hit the water” and God will cause great things to happen.
Thanks for praying,
Ron and Teddy
