“Sing to the Lord a new song” (Ps. 33:3, 40:3, 96:1).
“‘Sing, O barren one … break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,’ says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent … For you will spread abroad to the right and to the left” (Isa. 54:1–3)
Sing to the Lord a New Song!
This update’s theme is about singing a new song to the Lord. But first let me mention some other important things:
MPP special prayer for Ukraine—I want to thank all who joined us on MPP on Wed., March 23. One prophecy stood out in particular. It quoted Matthew 12:20 (which quotes Isaiah 42:3), stating, “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench.” Truly the Lord has His eye on Ukraine and Ukrainian Christians.
When I heard of the huge numbers of Ukrainians (including many vibrant Christians) who had to flee into neighboring countries, I was reminded of Acts 8:1 which describes how the persecuted church was scattered but spread the gospel everywhere they went. In my spirit, I saw Ukrainian Christians spreading the gospel as they were scattered throughout Europe. But they weren’t dim like “smoking flax.” Rather, they were brightly burning torches similar to those that Gideon’s 300 carried (see Judges 7). And then I saw this fire wasn’t just limited to Ukrainians and Europe; it seemed like all over the world torches were bursting forth into bright flame and joining together. They become an all-encompassing consuming fire. I felt the Lord wants us to know that the shaking of these past two years is causing the pitchers to come off and no longer cover the torches (Judg. 7:16–20). This is resulting in a release of His fire like never before. Many who feel their Christian lives are only a smoking flax will soon find themselves burning brightly with passionate zeal for the Lord.
Note: Our next scheduled Ukraine prayer times on MPP are April 20 and 27.
A Three-Day Fast before Passover—Many, many Christians around the world have felt led to do a three-day fast in the days leading up to Passover this year (April 15–16). If you haven’t done so already, then I urge you do it. It is part of “following the Lord into battle,” as well as preparation for “crossing over.” Prophets around the world are basically saying the same thing: God has been preparing His ekklesia, and around Passover we’ll find ourselves crossing into a harvest like we’ve never seen before. Fasting prepares us as new wineskins to receive the new wine, and also wins the spiritual battle in the realm of the second heaven.
Sing a New Song to the Lord (Ps. 40:3)—To sing a new song doesn’t mean we have to be composers or song writers. It means that the Holy Spirit inside of us has an endless supply of words and melodies to sing to the Lord. We can yield to Him and begin singing, trusting He’ll give us the words of praise, adoration, declaration, and exhortation. We are told, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it” (Ps. 81:10). It’s really quite simple—instead of speaking words of prayer, you can sing them. Yield to the Holy Spirit and you will find your “tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” (Ps. 45:1).
We were led to do this during MPP. Instead of speaking the prophecies, we sang them. It was so powerful. God’s presence, grace, and goodness fell so strongly on all of us. Miracles happened. Something unusual is released when you sing a new (words given by the Holy Spirit) song to Him. You may ask, why is this necessary? Do I have to do this? No, we don’t have to do it, but it is scriptural, and is something the Lord may ask us to do. Whenever we obey and do what He says, amazing things happen that probably wouldn’t happen otherwise.
So, make it a point to sing to the Lord the new songs the Holy Spirit will give. All you have to do is yield. You can do this during your private prayer time, or while you’re driving, or when fellowshiping with others. Just begin singing those words of praise or prayer. As you do, you’ll find the Holy Spirit does indeed fill your mouth. The supply is endless. You’ll also find yourself being healed, and being filled with His love and goodness.
Do you need one more reason? Isaiah 54:1 tells us to “break forth into singing.” Sing out the new song the Holy Spirit has already placed in your spirit. Barrenness will be broken, and you will find yourself being enlarged and expanding.
Thanks for praying,
Ron and Teddy
